PanAmSat launches Galaxy 15

PanAmSat successfully launched its new Galaxy 15 satellite Oct. 14 for HDTV and video distribution and government-related applications.

Galaxy 15 carries both C- and L-band transponders. It will be located at 133 degrees west longitude and will cover all 50 U.S. states. The third PanAmSat satellite from Orbital Sciences, Galaxy 15 will be used for C-band distribution on video programming and L-band navigation signals for in-flight aircraft.
