Broadcast complaints, inquires decline in Q3 ’07

The latest quarterly report from the Federal Communication Commission shows a significant decline in the number of complaints about and inquiries on radio and television broadcasting in the third quarter of 2007.
The report, released July 1, indicates consumer complaints about broadcasting dropped from 5675 in the second quarter of 2007 to 987 in the third quarter. Leading the decline was the drop in the number of complaints about broadcast indecency, which fell from 4368 in the second quarter to 368 complaints in the third.
According to the report, broadcast programming issues ranked as the top radio and television broadcasting inquiry category for the third quarter, representing more than 66 percent of the 3576 inquiries.
Regarding broadcast-related complaints, the report showed:
