NTIA LPTV, translator digital conversion grant application

The National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) has extended the deadline for applications from low-power television and TV translator stations seeking grants from the Digital-to-Analog Conversion Program.

DTV transition deadline

All full-power broadcasters in the United States must commence DTV transmission on the post-transition channel assignment.

Extended license and construction permit deadline
Date: June 12
The FCC has extended the construction permit deadline to build a station’s full-authorized post-transition DTV facility till June 12 at 11:59:59 p.m. local time.

DTS waiver policy proposal deadline
Date: Dec. 14
The FCC will accept proposals for waivers of its distributed transmission system policy to let stations to use DTS if it lets them continue serving analog viewers in areas that otherwise would lose digital television service.
