Harris to deploy Freescale semiconductors in its UHF transmitters

Harris has announced a deal with Freescale Semiconductor of Austin, Texas to integrate its chips into new UHF terrestrial TV transmitters.
Freescale’s laterally diffused MOS UHF technology allows Harris to build compact and power-efficient UHF transmitters.
Tim Thorsteinson, president of Harris Broadcast Communications, said the strategic partnership with Freescale has resulted in a change in Harris’ approach to the manufacturing process. This will result in a more efficient range of TV transmitters.
