Hauppauge Digital's new compact, high-performance mobile digital TV USB receiver, WinTV MiniStick, is primarily designed for European and South Asian DVB-T broadcast networks — where two-thirds of the channels offered today are free-to-air — but also supports Korea's, Japan's and Brazil's mobile digital TV networks.
Based on Siano's SMS1150 multistandard mobile TV receiver chip, the WinTV MiniStick supports Windows XP, Windows Vista and Linux computers on existing laptops as well as ultra-mobile PCs. The receiver offers high-speed mobility, smooth handovers, low energy requirements and reception sensitive enough for indoor usage, according to Hauppauge.
