Indonesia’s first mobile video system based on Jampro UHF systems

Sun TV, Indonesia’s newest broadcast network, has ordered six Jampro UHF broadband high-power antenna systems to expand Sun TV’s coverage area to the six largest Indonesian markets by combining with an existing UHF TV network and add the ability to reach mobile video systems via the DVB-H transmission standard.
The systems to be installed include the Jampro JUHD UHF high-power panel antenna, Proline rigid transmission line and Jampro RWED UHF high-power combiner, and RCPU patch panels/switch frames. The combiner and component requirements were especially challenging, due to the significant channel spacing and high power levels to be combined for reliable RF operation.
The JUHD broadband UHF panel antenna can be either side-mounted or top-mounted. Based on a modular design, it can be configured to provide various azimuth and elevation patterns. Using optional beam tilt and null fill, the elevation pattern of the horizontally polarized antenna can be shaped to maximize coverage. It can also be configured to include varying levels of vertical polarization, with results ranging from small amounts of elliptical polarization.
To ensure many years of service in Sun TV’s hot, humid climate, radomes will be employed to enclose and protect the panels against the elements.
