The FCC Media Bureau said Nov. 7 it had granted a 30-day extension for certain
parties to amend pending waiver requests, renewal applications or requests for permanent waivers to the commission’s newspaper/broadcast cross-ownership rules.
The Media Bureau gave Cox Enterprises, Calvary, Booneville International, Scranton Times and Morris Communications until Dec. 8 to file the amendments to waiver request or renewal applications.
According to the Media Bureau, the extension was needed to give the commission time to consider a request from the parties that the deadline be delayed until 90 days following the issuance of a final court order on pending judicial challenges to the commission’s modified cross-ownership rules.
