News Over Wireless extends the reach of local TV news to mobile phones.
By deploying News Over Wireless' mobile content delivery software and services, nine Scripps TV stations will earn revenue from local news, weather, traffic and video broadcast to mobile phones. And viewers will have free, ad-supported local news always at their fingertips.
In the new partnership, News Over Wireless will provide an improved mobile Web interface that cross-promotes its premium applications, offering consumers even more local content such as video clips, news stories, weather radars and traffic cameras. The Scripps stations will also benefit from expanded video offerings on Sprint TV and V CAST as well as quick access to content through the 4MYTV (46988) short code.
News Over Wireless provides mobile content distribution to more than 100 local U.S. TV stations, according to the company's Web site. Its premium applications are sold under the My Local TV brand on major wireless carrier decks.
