QUALCOMM integrates leading Irdeto, Nagravision, NDS CA solutions into MediaFLO

QUALCOMM is working with conditional access (CA) providers Irdeto, Nagravision and NDS to integrate their solutions with the MediaFLO mobile broadcast platform.
The collaboration, in compliance with the OpenCA framework developed by the FLO Forum, allows MediaFLO mobile TV service providers to select the CA solution best suited to their market and requirements. All pay TV providers require CA solutions, because they restrict viewing to only paid subscribers. This allows service providers to offer a variety of features and business models, including free previews, subscriber promotions, pay-per-view and pay-per-time, among other possible options.
