CloseVu adds new graphics tools to mobile sports video offering

CloseVu at NAB2008 unveiled two new tools for its portfolio of mobile sports video enhancement software: CloseVU Graphics and CloseVU Instant Highlights.

CloseVU Graphics’ “grabber” function strips graphics from broadcast video in real time, optimizes the images and repositions them on different areas of the mobile screen, automatically reconstituting the video image under the original graphic position. This makes such typical graphic insertions as clocks, logos, scores and tickers easier to read on highly compressed Web and mobile TV streams.

The CloseVU Instant Highlights module speeds the production of highlights packages for live sports events on mobile platforms by automatically recording a “best-play” sequence and generating a highlights clip. The highlights icons are customizable presets that carry information about the particular play (goals, catches, interceptions, etc.)
