Ensemble Designs to unveil new MPEG transport stream processor
Apr 9, 2009 10:29 AM
Ensemble Designs’ new Avenue 5360 module converts four channels of analog video and audio to four streams of SD-SDI with embedded audio. Ten modules fit in the 3RU Avenue frame.
Ensemble Designs will introduce the 4500 MPEG Transport Stream Processor for translating DVB-ASI to SMPTE 310M in broadcast and satellite applications, along with 27 other new products at the NAB Show.
Transmission facilities often have both 310M and ASI signals and need a way to convert and monitor those streams. The 4500 MPEG Transport Stream Processor translates DVB-ASI to SMPTE 310M and vice versa. The 4500’s stream content analyzer verifies signal health by evaluating signal presence, program packets, PMT, PAT and PIDs.
The new LevelTrack Audio AGC corrects mismatched audio levels between different program sources or segments within a program. Based on the history in each channel, gradual changes are applied to prevent the audio level from dropping below or exceeding user-programmable thresholds.
The new Avenue 5360 and 5365 convert four channels of analog video and audio to four streams of SD-SDI with embedded audio. The new modules are well-suited for satellite installations that need to feed a large number of analog signals from IRDs into a monitor wall.
