Media Bureau extends filing deadline regarding Hazelton satellite petition
Nov 19, 2009 10:28 AM
The FCC Media Bureau has extended the deadline for filing a response to a petition for declaratory ruling regarding restrictions placed upon satellite antennas in Hazelton, PA.
In October, the commission asked for comment on the petition filed by Satellite Broadcasting and Communications Association of America, Antenna Star Satellites and Johnson TV & Satellite seeking to find out if local restrictions in Hazelton are preempted by FCC rules.
Last week, Hazelton city officials asked the commission to extend the deadline for filing comments regarding the petition. According to the Media Bureau, the original petitioners also support granting the extension.
The new deadline to file a response is Dec. 31. Replies must be filed by Jan. 19, 2010.
