NextComputing, BlueFish444 partner for mobile broadcast production platform

Users can incorporate Bluefish444's SD|Greed and other video cards into a new mobile broadcast production platform from Next Computing and BlueFish444.
NextComputing and BlueFish444 have partnered for the creation of a new mobile broadcast production platform. Virtual reality product provider Infobyte has already deployed the system in Europe for sporting events.
The NextComputing/BlueFish444 system is powered by the modular, briefcase-sized NextDimension Pro HD workstation, featuring up to two next-generation dual-core AMD Opteron processors, 24GB of RAM and up to eight Seagate Technologies enterprise drives. The enterprise drives sustain read/write speeds of more than 170MB/s, with built-in RAID. The open-standards PCIe and PCI-X architecture of the system allows end users to incorporate Bluefish444's SD|Greed video card, in addition to professional PCIe graphics cards by NVIDIA and PNY Technologies, to power the integrated 17in HD display (1920 x 1200).
Infobyte, which specializes in new forms of technological communication and real-time virtual reality, has already deployed the solution to international broadcasters in the European market. Operators are using it to stream 3-D overlays in real time, with redundancy, at professional sporting events.
