Mobile technology and services company ROK Entertainment Group and mobile operator Claro launched Ideas TV, which offers 11 local and international channels, in the Dominican Republic. With its ROK TV media player, ROK TV works on standard 2.5G cellular signals, as well as 3G, and is independent of carrier network. Initially the service will be available on the Blackberry Bold, Nokia N95, Nokia E71 and the Nokia 6120. In 2008, ROK and Claro’s parent company Telcel launched Ideas TV in Mexico. ROK also offers FreeBe TV, a free, ad-supported mobile IPTV service.
