TeamCast introduces newest DTV, mobile TV modules
Sep 15, 2009 3:13 PM
This brief video demonstrates building an embedded custom process on a Xilinx Spartan FPGA.
At IBC2009, TeamCast introduced its newest DTV and mobile TV modules, integrating the latest Xilinx field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs). Since 2003, TeamCast has deployed Xilinx Virtex and Spartan FPGAs in all of its OEM modulation products, as well as in the GFX-0300 gap filler and RPX-1000 demodulator measurement receiving probe.
TeamCast credits key features of Xilinx chips with enabling competitive flexibility and price performance, including:
The ability to embed processing and programmable logic in a single FPGA;
Abundant programmable logic with shift register lookup table and distributed memory;
Digital signal-processing and embedded memory blocks;
Preconfigured PLL interface that generates all the clocks needed for each modulation standard;
PowerPC processor embedded in Virtex FPGAs;
Xilinx design system software platform, ISE Design Suite and CORE Generator, featuring optimized FFT and FIR cores; and
Xilinx FPGA reprogrammability via device download.
TeamCast uses Xilinx FPGAs for DTV and mobile TV modulation, output signal processing for amplifier nonlinear and linear precorrection, echo cancellation and signal shaping.
This eBook provides both new and veteran shooters an in-depth understanding of the technology that lies between the camera lens and the recording medium and how to maximize a camera's performance.
File-based technologies have replaced video tape methods for a majority of production and broadcast operations. The worlds of AV and IT are coalescing to create new methods and workflows for media
Video compression, editing and displays is an in-depth tutorial on MPEG compression technology, editing MPEG content and evaluating color video monitors written by long-time video expert, trainer and writer Steve Mullen, Ph. D.
2012 will be the year of mobile DTV. That’s the view of Erik Moreno, who along with Salil Dalvi, senior VP for Mobile Platform Development at NBC Universal, is co-general manager of the Mobile Content Venture.
