Linear Acoustic has unveiled its new Aeromax-TV stereo digital audio processor with CrowdControl.
The unit provides control of two-channel main plus SAP audio, with front-panel display and controls plus Ethernet remote control. The four-channel unit can be configured as 2+2 or 2+1+1 (stereo plus two mono channels).
CrowdControl Dialog Protection Processing uses a new DSP algorithm to overcome common problems hearing event announcers reported by viewers. These issues may be caused by a loud crowd, viewer use of effects like “hyper surround” or an overly aggressive broadcast mix. According to Linear Acoustic, Aeromax-TV eliminates this problem for stereo viewers prior to transmission without impacting sound quality for surround listeners.
The four-channel Aeromax-TV processes main stereo and auxiliary programs and includes a high-quality multi-band dynamics engine. With digital television conversion in full swing, investments in new stereo equipment must be carefully considered. By combining processing for up to four channels of audio with advanced new processing, Aeromax-TV is optimized for fix issues not addressed by existing analog television processing, especially when combined with existing BTSC stereo generators and/or modulators.
