Movers and shakers in audio

Millennia Music and Media Systems has named Joel Silverman as managing director. Silverman holds an Electrical Engineering degree from Clarkson and is an active member of the AES and IEEE.

SLS Loudspeakers appointed Tom Tyson as field engineering director. Also hired were Harry Klane as its new U.S. Eastern regional sales manager and Joel Moak as the U.S. Western regional sales manager. Garth Showalter was hired as customer service manager and design assistant for contractors and dealers.

Harris’ Broadcast Communications Division has named Brian McConnell as district sales manager, Western region of its Radio Broadcast Systems business unit. McConnell will be responsible for RF transmission and radio systems sales to radio broadcasters in California, Nevada and Hawaii.

Otari U.S.A. Sales has appointed Tim Murray as director of sales and marketing. Murray will be based in Otari U.S.A.’s new headquarters in Chatsworth, CA. This office handles the distribution and customer support services for the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Latin American markets.

Prism Sound has appointed Frank Oglethorpe as its U.S. recording sales and technical specialist. Ogelthorpe was formerly technical director of FX Rentals in London. Janice Norton will continue to manage Prism Sound U.S. operations as U.S. sales manager at the Prism Sound U.S. headquarters in New Jersey.

Martin Burns has been named as managing sales director for GLW, manufacturer of Harrison mixing consoles. Burns served as general sales manager at GLW when the company was first formed in 1989 and has since held sales management positions at Siemens Audio, Fostex, 360 Systems, and ENCO Systems.

Propellerhead Software has appointed Timothy Self as director of U.S. markets. Self will lead efforts in the United States to grow markets for Propellerhead products, including the recently released Reason 3.0. In addition, Tim will work closely with Propellerheads' exclusive U.S. distributor, Line 6.
