Sony DADC has ramped up DualDisc production and Universal Media Disc (UMD) to 100,000 discs per day for each format.
The DualDisc already has more than 60 titles and several million units currently available. The audio side of DualDiscs average 60 minutes, while the DVD side supports the DVD5 format at about 4.7GB.
The UMD can carry more than 1.8GB of content. The disc can hold up to two hours of DVD-quality music videos or four hours of standard quality. The UMD comes in a small protective cartridge.
