Audio-Technica has announced its entry into the in-ear monitoring market with the introduction of the M3 and M2 Wireless IEM Systems at the recent NAMM conference. Both systems come with a half-rack stereo transmitter with professional combo connectors, compact bodypack receiver and EP3 dynamic earphones, and feature the company’s Personal Mix Control, which offers independent control of volume and mix at the receiver.
The M3 system offers automatic frequency scan of 1250 on-board UHF channels, a backlit LCD display with front-panel navigation buttons and a 3.5mm input jack for use with an ambient microphone, click track or director’s feed. By contrast, the budget-priced M2 system offers similar features, but without frequency scanning for its 100 available channels.
The supplied EP3 earphones offer a Audio-Technica dynamic driver for detailed high-fidelity sound. The EP3 earphones come with three sizes of rubber flexible eartips and a universal-fit foam tip for a custom fit, increased isolation and long-wearing listening comfort without ear fatigue.
