The Avantone CK-33 stereo condenser mic ships with all its accessories in a sturdy aluminum road case.
At the recent NAMM show in Anaheim, CA, Avant Electronics introduced the Avantone CK-33 stereo microphone, said to feature design and performance attributes of professional stereo FET mics but at a lower price point. The CK-33 is a Class A FET design with twin 32mm center-terminated pressure gradient cardioid transducers in close proximity, creating a tight vertical array with the top capsule assembly rotated 90 degrees relative to the lower capsule.
According to Glen Heffner, Avant VP of sales, “Our goal was to present a simple, flexible, beautifully designed cardioid stereo mic package at an unheard of price.”
Published specifications show that the CK-33 handles 146dB maximum SPL with a self-noise of 18dB. The microphone body and capsule assemblies are precision machined from brass, with polished nickel trim and plated steel grilles. The microphone features a distinctive cabernet red metallic finish and is packed in a protective wooden mic case. Supplied accessories include a spider-style shock mount, five-pin cable, stereo splitter box and aluminum carry case.
Located in Upland, CA, Avant Electronics specializes in professional studio microphones, monitors and accessories.
