Eight Calrec consoles were recently shipped to NBC in Beijing for use at the Olympic Games.
Calrec Audio announced a new flypack version of the Omega with Bluefin audio console at IBC. Flypacks are designed for use in places where a mobile truck cannot get or is prohibitively expensive to ship.
Available on the Omega and Zeta models, the Flypack consoles use military-spec connectors to ensure fast, reliable and rugged connectivity — offering an adaptable solution to OB requirements without unnecessary expenditure.
Calrec consoles have long been used for flypacks, and the manufacturer recently shipped eight consoles to NBC in Beijing for use at the Olympic Games. One of the reasons is that all Calrec consoles have a high fader density, allowing more faders in a smaller space.
The company’s standard Flypack enables all digital signal processing, power supplies and I/O interfacing to be housed in a double rack, which allows the control surface to be mounted on top. The unit is sold with or without a flight case so customers have the option to custom fit their cases with supplementary equipment.
