DiGiCo unveils SD7, Soundtracs DS-00 mixers at NAB2008

The new SD7 console from DiGiCo features the company’s new Stealth FPGA digital processing engine.
Exhibiting with its U.S. distributor, Group One, DiGiCo showed two new consoles at the recent NAB2008. On display were the compact Soundtracs DS-00 digital console and the first U.S. showing of the SD7 system featuring “Stealth” FPGA digital processing.
Powering the SD7 is DiGiCo’s new Stealth mixing and routing engine. Based on the latest incarnation of FPGA (field-programmable gate array) technology, known as Super FPGA, it’s a core component of the SD7 design. Allied to two of the latest generation of SHARC effects, dynamics and control processors, it endows the console with eight times the overall processing power of a D5 Live. The SD7 offers 128 simultaneous 192kHz signal paths (256 at 48kHz/96kHz). The console is designed for complex productions, with 448 simultaneous optical, 224 MADI and 24 integral connections, 128 busses plus 32 matrix busses and 32 graphic EQs.
The Soundtracs DS-00 is a compact digital console designed for broadcast, film, post-production and music recording applications. It features 64 channels of full processing expandable to 160 channels of stereo; LCRS, 5.1 and 7.1 surround mixing with a 40 x 8 monitor matrix; full dynamic and snapshot automation; onboard FX option with automation; audio and file network options; and 96khz operation with multiple output sample rates.
