The DP600 Program Optimizer has earned Dolby laboratories an Emmy.
The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has awarded Dolby Laboratories with an Emmy for the Dolby DP600 Program Optimizer. Dolby received its award, one of four granted in 2009, during the 61st Primetime Emmy Engineering Awards ceremony Aug. 22 in Los Angeles. Engineering Emmys are presented to individuals, companies or organizations for "engineering developments so extensive an improvement on existing methods or so innovative in nature that they materially affect the transmission, recording or reception of television."
The Dolby DP600 Program Optimizer is a flexible audio platform designed for professional broadcasting and post production that provides a file-based workflow solution for loudness correction, audio creation, conversion and upmixing.
Dolby Laboratories has recently provided support for Dolby Pulse, the latest in Dolby's advanced audio technologies, in the Version 1.4 software release of the Dolby DP600 Program Optimizer. The company also unveiled the upcoming Version 1.5 software release, to be available in this fall, which will support the LXF file container format (used with Harris/Leitch servers) and the MP4 media container format (used in online applications). In addition, current support for MXF will be extended to include SMPTE 386M (IMX with D-10 audio).
