GC Pro to distribute Fairlight Xynergi in the U.S.

GC Pro in the U.S will distribute the new Xynergi Media Production Centre by Fairlight.
Guitar Center has announced an agreement with Fairlight to make GC Pro the primary U.S. sales channel for the new Xynergi Media Production Centre (MPC). The Xynergi MPC will be featured at several GC Pro locations. The new Xynergi is now shipping.
Based around Fairlight’s CC-1 digital media engine, Xynergi MPC organizes and delivers a suite of media processing tools needed for high-end audio for video production in all widely used surround formats. The control surface is based upon the company’s new concept in tactile control, featuring self-labeling key switches that can display full color images, icons or text to provide intelligent control over the entire recording, and editing and mixing process. In addition, Xynergi can support any type of language or icon-driven menu structure with an on-demand standard keyboard for routine naming tasks and immediate access to MS Office tools.
The controller also features eight touch-sensitive rotary controllers and multiple soft keys arranged around a color control zone. These can be used to support Xynergi’s mix automation and control its extensive signal processing facilities, including multiband EQ, three-stage dynamics, multidimensional panning and auxiliary sends. According to Fairlight, the real essence of the controller lies in its ability to determine what mode the operator is in, presenting only the functions relevant to the desired mode while hiding those that aren’t.
GC Pro will work closely with Fairlight over the coming months to provide a unique outlet for this new product.
