Sennheiser to introduce EK 3241 portable RF receiver at NAB2007

Sennheiser's new EK3241 portable RF receiver offers an optional back channel feature called command channel.

At the upcoming NAB2007 show in Las Vegas, Sennheiser will introduce the lightweight EK 3241 portable receiver. Designed for location sound recording, the EK 3241 improves upon its predecessor, the EK 3041, with a 36MHz switching bandwidth, tunable in 5kHz increments for 7200 frequency options, and matches the capabilities of the Sennheiser SKM 5200 and SK 5212 transmitters.

Weighing just more than 7oz, the EK 3241 features a newly designed interface and field-ready reliability. It can be powered via camcorder or rechargeable battery that delivers between nine and 18 hours of continuous operation. The unit ships with 32 custom frequencies preprogrammed, and allows users to store an additional 20 in a memory bank. As an optional feature, the EK 3241 offers a command channel function, which opens up a second audio channel to the mixer. Users can switch between the normal audio channel and the command channel, or they can mix the two.
