Sennheiser is extending it reach with the formation of its new consumer electronics subsidiary.
Known for its premium microphones and wireless systems for pro audio, Sennheiser has announced the creation of a new consumer electronics subsidiary, Sennheiser Consumer Electronics GmbH. The primary initial product focus of the new consumer products division will be the company’s range of headphones, which already enjoy a strong reputation in studios, among audiophiles and in the gaming segment. The new division is launching this September.
According to Volker Bartels, president of production and logistics for Sennheiser, "The 39.8 percent leap in sales over the past year reveals a dynamism that we'd like to capitalize on to expand our headphone business; therefore, a separate subsidiary, Sennheiser Consumer Electronics GmbH, was created to focus exclusively on headphones, enabling us to identify early trends and rapidly translate them into outstanding headphone designs for our customers."
Sennheiser Consumer Electronics is split between two branches, Ireland and Singapore. Tullamore, Ireland, is where transducer manufacturing, assembly of Sennheiser's high-performance headphones and worldwide fulfillment are based.
