The new Sony digital wireless package

The new Sony digital wireless package is comprised of the DWT-B01 bodypack transmitter and DWR-S01D digital wireless receiver.

Sony has introduced an all-digital portable wireless audio system designed to improve sound quality and increase system flexibility in the production of news, sports and documentaries.

Shown at the recent AES show in New York, the new Sony digital wireless package is comprised of the DWT-B01 bodypack transmitter and DWR-S01D digital wireless receiver. It also features the DWA-01D wireless tuner adaptor for use with the company’s HDCAM, XDCAM, Digital Betacam and MPEG IMX professional camcorders.

Using a new Sony codec chip, the DWT-B01 and DWR-S01D units deliver 24-bit/48kHz digital wireless audio transmission quality. The system is distinguished by its low latency, secure and reliable operation. It delivers a wide dynamic range of more than 106dB, a wide frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz and exceptional transient response.

Incorporating a newly developed digital modulator, the system delivers intermodulation-free, equally spaced channel allocation, which allows for large-scale multichannel operations. Additionally, the system’s technology provides up to 50 percent more simultaneous wireless channels.

The new units are scheduled for delivery in April 2008.
