The SPEEDtv motorsports network has embraced Neural-THX Surround for the audio portion of its HD programming.

The SPEEDtv motorsports cable network has integrated Neural-THX Surround professional products from Neural Audio for its HD programming schedule, including coverage of NASCAR, Grand Am and IndyCar racing. SPEEDtv is among the fastest-growing cable networks, reaching more than 78 million homes.

“Neural-THX Surround has significantly helped bring SPEED into the HD and 5.1 world with tremendous ease and simplicity,” said Bruce Shapiro, coordinating technical producer for SPEEDtv. “The MultiMerge and UpMix units keep us covered across a variety of HD efforts.”

The Neural-THX Surround MultiMerge and Neural-THX UpMix professional products allow broadcasters and networks to manage their stereo and surround-sound content so that the home viewer receives a constant, natural and enveloping surround-sound experience. The technology removes unwanted pops, clicks and audio dropouts associated with a typical HD broadcast using both stereo and surround-sound audio.

The Neural-THX Surround technology is the result of a partnership between audio pioneer THX and Neural Audio to jointly develop and market surround-sound technology solutions to automotive, broadcast, game and consumer electronics manufacturers.
