Touring Video has found the K+H O 300D powered nearfield monitor to be ideal for remote truck applications.

Touring Video, a remote multicamera video production company based in Southern California, has installed Klein + Hummel O 300 D three-way, self-powered nearfield monitor loudspeakers in the company's TV-3 HD/SDI remote truck. The truck is currently being used on a number of primetime network productions, including two NBC game shows, "Deal or No Deal" and "1 vs. 100."

As a mobile unit, the TV-3 truck hosts a different mix engineer virtually every day. Touring Video president Doug Armstrong has been very pleased with the performance of the stereo pair of K+H O 300 D speakers since their installation just a few months ago, noting that every audio engineer using the facility has been pleased with their sound. He specifically mentions the smooth response across a wide frequency range, which he attributes to their three-way, self-powered design. Armstrong also notes that the speakers have the mechanical solidity and mounting options that are critical to optimal use in mobile applications.

Armstrong is so pleased that he has stated his intention to replace all other monitors aboard the Touring Video TV-3 truck with various K+H models, including both the O 200 and O 100 models. One O 800 subwoofer will complete the package for full surround monitoring.
