A diverse range of broadcasters turn to CellCom wireless intercoms

Its flexibility of application has made Clear-Com’s CellCom wireless the intercom of choice for a wide variety of customers in 2008.
In 2008, a record number of companies across a diverse range of media fields adopted Clear-Com’s CellCom digital wireless system. For wireless communications, CellCom can operate either as a standalone system or part of a wired setup, and it combines DECT and wireless roaming technologies to ensure against the interference common to the wireless world. CellCom also offers operation in the license-free 1.8 to 1.9GHz frequency range.
Weather network AccuWeather.com discovered these qualities when it installed CellCom, along with a Clear-Com Eclipse Median Digital Matrix intercom, at its headquarters in State College, PA. CellCom provides beltpack-based wireless communications throughout its operations floor, allowing up to 10 staffers to roam seamlessly between remote active antennas.
CellCom also found a home in 2008 in live performance and theatrical venues. Earlier this year, the Craterian Ginger Rogers Theater, a historic performing arts center in Medford, OR, installed the system, which has become a major asset for the theater and is used for elaborate Broadway-style live shows, dance performances and concerts, with crew sizes ranging from three to more than 50 people. Similarly, Zellerbach Auditorium, a 2000-seat performing arts center at the University of California at Berkeley, has integrated CellCom into its existing wired setup, realizing an immediate improvement in reception and reliability, eliminating numerous “dead zones.”
The company has also made significant inroads with CellCom within the worship sector this year as well. One example is Crossings Community Church, a large congregation in Oklahoma City, which is using CellCom to coordinate the production of three weekly services featuring music by a 120-piece chorus and a full orchestra.
