Fairlight CC-1 gaining acceptance in European post market

Fairlight has announced several new adopters of its latest Dream II products. The Crystal Core (CC-1) engine that drives the Dream II platform is an FPGA engine that offers a rich feature set and comprehensive file handling capabilities for OMF, AES31, AAF and MXF. The company has made a concerted effort to show how the well system works with European workflow models, resulting in several major sales.

Italy’s Skill Post Production Group is expanding and upgrading to new CC-1 engines as well as installing an additional StationPlus mixing controller. One of Milan’s busiest post houses, Skill is run by Daniele Tuccari, who commented that the system offered powerful integration of audio and video tools. Another facility moving up to CC-1 is Belgium’s Options Studio. Already a substantial Fairlight user, Options has begun the phased introduction of CC-1 platforms under their multiple Constellation-XT mixing systems. In Germany, Synchrosphere Studios in Berlin is also moving over to CC-1 as clients demand faster and more comprehensive one-stop-shop facilities.
