Furman Sound inks distribution deal with Fender

Jun 9, 2006 10:14 AM

Furman Sound and Fender Musical Instruments have announced a new partnership through which the guitar maker Fender’s wholesale division will serve as a distributor of Furman Sound’s AC power conditioning products.

As Furman Sound’s distributor to the musical instruments market, Fender’s wholesale division will showcase the company's products through its internal sales force, field sales staff and trade show presence. Furman equipment will be part of a selection of products intended to leverage Fender’s product line and sales organization to the benefit of retailers and smaller dealers.

Furman's power conditioning products feature proprietary "SMP+" technology, which combines three filtering and protection circuits:

  • Linear Filtering Technology (LiFT) to suppress noise dramatically and consistently across the entire dynamic range;
  • Series Multi-Stage Protection (SMP) to clamp and dissipate damaging transient voltages without sacrificing itself; and
  • Extreme Voltage Shutdown (EVS) to protect against loss of neutral or accidental connections at high voltage levels.
