New HD channel launches in Germany

Anixe TV is a new free-to-air HD channel broadcasting in Dolby 5.1 surround to cover Germany and surrounding areas. Launching on April 1, 2006, Anixe will utilize MPEG-4 compression to broadcast a live daily morning wake-up show, as well as music videos, movie preview trailers and reviews, and two recent cinema releases nightly.
All broadcasts will be in high-definition 1920x1080i format, and carry full Dolby 5.1 surround audio. The full signal will be available via any HD-compatible receiver with Dolby surround capability.
