MXL Microphones and Tascam have announced the formation of a strategic alliance. Under terms of the agreement, MXL will supply microphones to be sold under the Tascam brand name. Tascam will pursue a bundling strategy, designed to promote confidence among consumers purchasing digital recording systems. Tascam-branded MXL studio microphones will also be offered individually.
From a marketing perspective, the two firms hope to leverage this alliance with offerings aimed at computer-based environments, including home studios, podcasting and audio for multimedia. MXL Microphones is a division of Marshall Electronics, while Tascam is the pro audio division of TEAC Corporation.
