NETIA'S Radio-Assist helps to enable social change in Congo

Radio Concordia serves the South Kivu region in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

NETIA today announced that its Radio-Assist digital audio software program is being used to launch a new radio project within the South Kivu region of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Radio Concordia was established to provide religious programming for the region while raising the profile of the area's poor.

According to Rev. Jean-Paul Bahati, the Catholic priest whose mission led him to the Radio Concordia project, Radio-Assist provides the tools necessary to create and broadcast educational programs that can make a significant social impact in the region. Because the software is easy to use and has few technical demands, it will eventually enable community members to contribute to local program content.

The Radio-Assist 7.5 digital audio software suite covers the entire operation of a radio station, from production to broadcast, including acquisition, sound-file editing, commercial and music production, newsroom system, scheduling, multicasting and administration.
