Powersoft’s new D-Cell504 is suitable for use in powered loudspeaker design, offering full Class D performance.

Powersoft Advanced Technologies unveiled its new D-Cell504 amplifier module at InfoComm 2009. The D-Cell504 brings together all the advantages of switch-mode power supply and fixed-frequency PPM-PWM modulation technologies onto one state-of-the-art Class-D technology product.

The stereo amp unit can deliver up to 350W at 4Ohms/channel in SE mode or 700W at 8Ohms in bridged mode. The unit features six different types of protections, load monitoring and an optional two in/four out SigmaDSP processor, which can manage two amp units. The versatile D-Cell504 power supply can drive two amp units, making it easy to power biamped systems, stereo or mono loudspeakers as well as complex multistage systems, subwoofer and satellites, or three-way loudspeakers.

Powersoft is also releasing D-Cell in an integrated, “ready-to-play” solution with up to four output channels in 100mm x330mm x110mm of space. Up to three units (one power supply and two stereo amplifiers) can be hosted on a single chassis, performing thermal dissipation and including mains connection, an interface panel with XLR balanced stereo inputs or input plus direct output, LEDs for signal presence, input clipping, limiter and temperature protection, preset selection pushbutton, preset selection LED, and connector to program the DSP with the module already mounted in the cabinet.

Power Factor Correction built into the D-Cell504 provides high-quality sound, worldwide AC compatibility, high reliability and greater than 90 percent efficiency.
