Renkus-Heinz has introduced RHAON, the Renkus-Heinz Audio Operations Network, designed to simplify and streamline control of digital audio networks and give maximum control over self-powered loudspeakers. RHAON integrates CobraNet digital audio distribution with individual control and monitoring of each powered loudspeaker and its built-in DSP. A Windows GUI is used to assign each loudspeaker to one of 64 audio channels, control parametric EQ and delay via onboard DSP, and monitor the amplifier and drivers. Automatic discovery of connected network devices, drag-and-drop signal routing and advanced CobraNet features such as half-latency and quarter-latency modes are among the advanced features of RHAON software.
RHAON systems offer full control of loudspeaker-specific DSP, including eight bands of parametric EQ, 40ms of delay, gain and soft-knee compression. Control and monitoring includes high input level, high temperature, over-current and out-of-range impedance value warnings that indicate driver failure.
Systems connections include a looping (in and out) XLR analog input, dual RJ45 Ethernet inputs (for redundancy), Phoenix connectors for the digital AES/EBU input and supplemental looping analog input. Any input can be programmed to override other inputs for life-safety applications. Renkus-Heinz plans to make all of its product lines RHAON-empowered in 2007.
