Røde Microphones buys Event Electronics

Australian based microphone manufacturer Røde has announced the acquisition of California-based Event Electronics, makers of professional studio monitors. Event will remain based in Carpinteria, CA. The two firms have been on friendly terms ever since the initial formation of Event Electronics, which was instrumental in launching Røde microphones into the U.S. market.

Røde employs 80 people at a high-tech plant in Sydney, Australia, and has have a dedicated distribution and service center located in Torrance, CA. That facility is headed by industry veteran Mark Ludmer, who has more than 20 years experience in the music technology industry. Ludmer will also take on the role of CEO of Event Electronics.
