Solid State Logic announces C Series console sales

“The Late Show with David Letterman” now boasts a SSL C200 in the music mix room at the Ed Sullivan Theater.
Solid State Logic (SSL) has announced several significant recent sales of its C100 and C200 series of digital audio mix consoles. The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) has ordered two additional C Series consoles for 2008. A C232 digital production console is being installed in a production truck based in Halifax. In addition, a C140 will be delivered to the CBC Toronto facility in May for use in HD news broadcasts. This marks the fifth and sixth SSL C Series consoles sold to the CBC.
CBS has ordered the largest C200 console SSL has ever built for “The Late Show with David Letterman.” The C296 console will handle all of the music production requirements for the program, with installation in New York’s legendary Ed Sullivan Theater scheduled for this summer.
Other recent sales include C132 consoles for use in live news broadcasts at KPIX-TV, a CBS owned-and-operated station in San Francisco, and WMAR-TV Baltimore, an ABC affiliate owned by E.W. Scripps. Madison Square Garden in New York has installed a C140/32 to handle live sports productions for MSG Network, and Iowa Public Television (IPTV) has added a third C100 console to its existing pair.
Canada’s LiveWire Remote Recorders recently installed a C232 in a remote truck based out of Toronto designed for live music broadcast production. The truck is slated to work on the Juno Awards program broadcast on April 6 on CTV and will then proceed to the NAB Show in Las Vegas on April 14-17.
