Furman Sound announces new SPB-8C pedal board

The new SPB-8C combines power handling and ergonomic design to make pedal effects easy to handle.
Furman Sound has announced the successor to its SPB-8 stereo pedal board: the SPB-8C. Building on the original’s technology, the new pedal board features a hardshell case, more outlets, completely isolated jacks and ultra low-noise performance for professional musicians. Featuring solid, robust construction, the unit is built to last and maintain optimum performance under abusive on-stage conditions.
The SPB-8C consists of a rugged, lightweight polycarbonate platform with an extruded aluminum chassis and a 13.75in x 26.75in Velcro sheet for secure, non-slip performance. The unit includes a stereo patch bay with eight switching phone jacks connected in two stereo loops, allowing a single guitar or instrument input to feed multiple mono and stereo effects boxes, send and return from remote effects, and feed up to two amplifiers simultaneously.
The new pedal board offers two levels of surge and short circuit protection, in addition to Furman’s standard level of RFI/EMI filtering, for a clean, noiseless signal. The SPB-8C powers DC pedals without hum by using a high-quality toroidal transformer. Each DC output is rated at 120 mA, and is individually protected against shorts, guaranteeing that if one output fails, the others will continue to function. In addition, the DC outputs are individually isolated to completely eliminate noisy ground loops. The board also includes four AC outlets, spaced widely enough to accommodate bulky transformers.
The SPB-8C comes with a durable hard shell case to accommodate the unit and all attached effects. A retractable handle and inline skate wheels allow for easy transport, while heavy-duty latches ensure the case will remain securely closed when not in use.
