SSL announces major C100 console sales

Solid State Logic has seen acceptance of the C100 digital console platform throughout the network production community.
Solid State Logic (SSL) is reporting strong demand for the C100 digital broadcast console. In recent months, major broadcasters throughout North America have added C100 consoles, in some cases housing as many as four C Series consoles.
CBC, the Canadian Broadcasting Company, recently purchased its fourth C Series console, for a new HD remote broadcast truck. The custom C148/64 is a duplicate of an earlier installation of a C148/64 in CBC’s inaugural HD remote broadcast truck. CBC also recently installed a C140 for national news and a C264 in its Toronto HD entertainment production studio.
In the United States, CBS has made a similar commitment to SSL consoles. “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson,” “The Price is Right” and “Real Time with Bill Maher” are among the CBS productions relying on the C Series: a C232 in post-production suite APP1, a C140 in Studio 58 and a C156 with custom patchbay integration in Studio 33.
ABC has installed C100 consoles for a variety of applications. The network’s New York headquarters, TV3, site of the prestigious “World News Tonight,” features a C156, while TV24, home of “The View,” houses a C140. Another C140 is being installed at the network’s Washington, D.C., news bureau.
E. W. Scripps Howard recently installed a C132 in the new control room of WEWS-TV in Cleveland, OH, and WFTS in Tampa, FL. The Food Network’s New York studio, another Scripps-owned entity, features a C132. In addition, WTFX of Philadelphia, owned and operated by FOX, recently installed two C140 consoles as part of a major renovation.
