The Gravity is a format- and codec-agnostic content control system.

Solid State Logic (SSL) will showcase the Gravity media production management system at in booth N4031 at NAB2008. The Gravity system is a collaborative production editing and media management tool that offers superior speed while addressing multiple formats.

Engineered for speed and flexibility, Gravity provides a high-speed network capable of handling a mass of information in a renderless, distributed environment. Key features of the system include HD and SD editing with effects on the same timeline, proxy editing while recording and the capability of generating multiple, simultaneous output formats in different resolutions to cover any broadcasting situation.

The Gravity system allows for bidirectional metadata exchange, auto-selectable proxy data rates to accommodate differing satellite installations and assignable user security to maintain system integrity. All components of the Gravity system are user-configurable to fit specific installations, while workflow needs are customizable to accommodate any mode of operation.

Key features of the Gravity system include a full-featured asset manager; a scheduler for timed events; an encoder/decoder that offers three simultaneous streams at different data rates; the Gravity package production tool, a customizable, feature-rich video editor with transcoder; an SQL relational database server; a multisource audio monitor; and a browser-based Web client version of the asset manager for remote system access.
