Nationwide Swiss audio network to use Net Insight

Dec 22, 2006 6:00 AM

SRG, Switzerland's public broadcaster, has chosen Net Insight's Nimbra platform for an audio network covering all of Switzerland. The broadcaster chose Nimbra for its ability to meet requirements for service migration, quality of service, flexibility and manageability. The platform is also scalable to provide new services and include additional locations in the future.

The new SRG network will transport both uncompressed (AES/EBU) and compressed audio. The initial network interconnects nine studios (both TV and radio) located in the six main cities. The network build out will start in the first quarter of 2007.
