Yamaha audio engine tunes up

The Yamaha DME24N and DME64N programmable DSP processors
Yamaha's Commercial Audio Systems Division has released an upgrade to its DME24N and DME64N programmable DSP audio processors. The free downloads are currently available at www.yamahaca.com. Approximately 30 new or improved features are included. The processors are designed as stand-alone fully integrated sound effects packages.

Users can now control the system from Ethernet, USB, RS-232, RS-422 or MIDI. Other new components include a SPX-type processor with up to 43, four-stereo SPX series effects. A digital audio file player provides up to one minute of 16-bit stereo.

The new crossover processor II provides improvements in crossover processing with six-band parametric EQ, a MUTE button on the input section and polarity switches on all channels.

The new version 1.1 also includes event logger that stores error or warning messages from the DME24 or DME64N hardware and allows the user to download them to a PC for print out.
