Pro-Bel has released Morpheus Media Browse for the creation of low-res browse copies of digitized content in a file-based environment and joins a roster of browse functions within the platform.

New workflows result in a greater proportion of material being delivered as files without the need for traditional tape-based ingest. Morpheus Media Browse allows low-res copies to be created quickly and easily. Pro-Bel's Browse Acquisition application integrates a new product, XCode, which has been developed by browse specialists IPV in close conjunction with Pro-Bel. XCode is a high-speed transcoder that streams the specified files from the material source, performs a transcode to Windows Media 9 format at around twice real time and then stores the low-res version on IPV's browse server. On completion of the transcode process, Pro-Bel's Acquisition application updates the Morpheus Media Management database to indicate that a low-res version is available for review.
