ON-AIR Systems has won an order from the new London-based television station, Channel S, to supply ON-AIR StudioTx, its new end-to-end digital playout system. Channel S will install the new system ready for their launch in February 2005 when they will begin broadcasting over the SKY network.
The order features a complete file-based playout automation system, including integrated media capture, traffic scheduling, media asset management, multi-layer graphics capabilities, automated media file tracking, multi-format playout and logging.
Channel S is aimed at the Bengali community in the UK. It will provide 24-hour broadcasting in Bangla and English, featuring programs for all age groups. Emphasis will be on entertainment, education and information, including programs focusing on the Bengali cultural heritage and multi-cultural life in Britain.
