Brazil’s EPTV upgrades playout center with Grass Valley

Brazil’s Empresa Paulista de Televisão (EPTV) is upgrading its systems to support digital and HD operations with the recent purchase of new equipment and systems at two of its TV Globo-affiliated broadcast and playout facilities.
EPTV Ribeirão Preto is planning a new digital playout center that will insert commercials and other branding elements and then distribute digital programming throughout the country. The new facility will include a Grass Valley Maestro master control and branding systems, a Concerto HD router, Jupiter router control software, a K2 HD media server and GeckoFlex modular products.
A second station, EPTV Campinas, will be on the air in August of this year with new Grass Valley HD production equipment to be used to produce its daily newscasts and talk shows.
