Norwegian broadcaster NRK has gone live with its new channel, NRK 3, using Abit’s bespoke software to operate with the existing Abit Present-it automation system. The software records live events automatically from the schedule or under operator control to the broadcaster’s Omneon Media Server system.

Live events can be later repeated on any of the NRK 1, NRK 2 and NRK 3 channels. Abit will also administer all the events for streaming, allowing NRK to distribute its media to a wider audience by making its content available in different formats such as on handheld devices and over the Internet.
