Pebble beach has introduced its latest DeckChair automation designed for small video servers.

Pebble Beach announced the launch of its latest DeckChair automation at IBC2007. The product is designed for the next generation of small video servers.

DeckChair is based on Pebble Beach’s Neptune and occupies just 3RU of space; it also provides up to three fully featured on-air channels.

In keeping with the scalable nature of small servers, DeckChair is available in six pre-configured options and offers future system expansion at a fixed cost. DeckChair offers interoperability with a wide range of third-party systems and supports control of VTRs for ingest and playout, routing systems, video server encoders and decoders using the industry-standard VDCP protocol.

The system provides various options for secondary device control using either simple GPI triggers or dedicated on-air graphics device drivers, allowing clients to team their systems with best of breed graphics presentation applications. DeckChair also includes scheduled recording for users wanting automatic, unattended ingest of live feeds. Even content brought into the server via FTP by third parties is detected and can be made available for playout using a pre-configured SOM time code.
