KYW-TV in Philadelphia has deployed Front Porch Digital’s DIVArchive for HD content storage management and DIVAdirector for clip retrieval from desktop editing workstations. The installation is part of a new HD facility for the duopoly of CBS 3 and the CW Philly 57.
KYW-TV’s new 120,000sq-foot facility includes two TV studios (each with its own control room to allow for simultaneous broadcasts), a state-of-the-art master control room, an operations center receiving hundreds of satellite feeds each day and a sixth-floor weather deck for live outdoor weather reports.
The news operation is completely tapeless and HD both in the studio and the field. Because the archive is based on digital tape, an estimated two years of newsworthy content can be stored in only about two racks.
This eBook provides both new and veteran shooters an in-depth understanding of the technology that lies between the camera lens and the recording medium and how to maximize a camera's performance.
